You are Mari, a girl who lives with her grandma in a small village. The Day of the Dead is approaching, and this year, you want to surprise grandma by putting together the offering by yourself.

The Day Before is a 3D simulation game in the vein of Animal Crossing. You're tasked with making a Day of the Dead offering, and so you'll need to search for various items... papel picado to set a festive mood, salt to purify the offering, and maybe mom will like finding her favorite flowers there as well. To get the things you need, you'll have to go around your village, talk to your neighbors, and slowly discover more things about everyone.
