The life of a city rat is a continuous cycle of misfortune and hardship. As the lowest rung in the urban ecosystem, everything in the city poses a threat. Starving stray cats, sudden sewer floods, and crows waiting to strike from the shadows… But of all these dangers, the most terrifying of them all is undoubtedly "humans."

Here, too, the lives of one "Artie The rat" family have been filled with suffering. This month has been particularly cruel—they have barely had a scrap of food to eat. But perhaps this, too, shall pass. After all, nothing remains miserable forever, does it? A luxurious feast unfolds before their eyes.

…But some misfortunes are eternal. When the Artie finally returns, what awaits is a scene of tragedy—his family, cold and lifeless, having consumed poisoned food. In the depths of his despair, a cockroach appears and casually begins feasting on the very same poisoned meal. As the Artie watches this unsettling sight, a single, dreadful plan takes root in his mind…

The Artie’s plan will not be easy. He had barely managed to keep his family from starving—how can he now evade all manner of obstacles and acquire high-quality food in large enough quantities to satisfy his newfound partners, the renowned gourmet cockroaches? There will be troublemakers stirring up the trash, destroying food, and even attacking the Artie himself.

The gourmet cockroaches’ tastes will only grow more refined. The Artie’s stamina is limited, and as time goes on, he must make decisions faster than ever.
