Fear and Hope has a decision-based narrative gameplay engine that offers the player multiple branching story paths through the game, each with its own unique challenges, puzzles, clues, characters, and discoveries to explore. Trying to solve all paths provides a good level of replayability allowing players to uncover more of the game's rich lore, world history, and mysteries with each playthrough.

The full game (not yet in the demo) will also include:

• Choice and chance based combat situations against various enemies and monsters using a variety of weapons. You may find weapons as hidden clues or obtain them through other means. 

• Survivalist gameplay mechanics like needing to manage, scavenge and find scarce food and fresh water resources.
